Friday, February 3: Pinkalicious Party
If you love pink, this party is for you! Join us as we dive into Victoria Kann's adorable book, Pinkalicious! Decorate pink cupcakes, sip on pink punch, play with pink playdough, and create lots of Pinkalicious-inspired crafts! Prize bags will be given to the museum visitors with the pinkest outfits. The Pinkalicious Party starts at 5:30 and lasts until 8pm!
Saturday, February 4: Heartfelt Designs
Our hearts are full here at KidSenses, and we want to share the love! Join us as we make paper mache heart decorations at 12:00 and 2:00 and creative Valentines at 11:00 and 3:30. You're guaranteed to leave with a happy heart!
Friday, February 10: Valentine Jewelry Studio
Let the world know who you love this Valentine's Day! Join us as we make necklaces and bracelets using Valentine-inspired beads! The fun starts at 5:30 and lasts until 8pm!
Saturday, February 11: Love Bugs
Calling all "love bugs!" Join us for a celebration of insects as Cynthia Robbins, Rutherford County's 4-H Agent, shares her creepy crawly knowledge as she leads a "Bug Out" program at 11:30. Participate in inventive follow-up activities as our insect expert shows you just how fun bugs can be! Make your very own Love Bug craft at 2:00 and 3:30 in Creation Station.
Friday, February 17: Presidents of Change
Join us as we celebrate our country's presidents! Play Presidential Bingo to familiarize yourself with the presidents represented on our currency. Then play "Toss the Lincoln" to see who can land the most pennies in our Floating Banks, and make presidential-inspired crafts in Creation Station before heading home! The fun starts at 5:30 and lasts until 8pm!
Saturday, February 18: African Dance and Folklore Day
Celebrate Black History Month with KidSenses! Join Mr. Keith Darby, Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy's Dance Teacher and Interactive Storyteller as he teaches an African folklore and dance clinic beginning at 11:30. All participants will have the option of performing at 1:00 for all museum visitors! Participate in the dance or simply come and watch the show! Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to have a new experience while celebrating African American history!
Friday, February 24: Talking Teeth
If your teeth could talk, what would they say? Would they be happy? Find out how to keep your teeth healthy and happy as Amanda Crisp and Phyliss Davis from the McDowell Health Department put on a dental puppet show at 6:00. Earn a free toothbrush for watching the puppet show, then make tooth-inspired crafts in Creation Station beginning at 5:30 pm. Our very own Dr. DeSoto will be in his dental office all day, so come early and stay late!
Saturday, February 25: Leap Year Creatures
2012 is a Leap Year! Join us for our Leap Year Day as we celebrate all the things that leap! Emily Walker from Chimney Rock Park will have you jumping out of your seat as she amazes us with amphibians and reptiles at 1:00 pm! Make frog-inspired crafts at 11:30 and 3:30 and participate in our Long Jump Challenge that will be going on all day long!
